v3Tuesday, December 12th is Poinsettia Day. It recognizes the poinsettia as a blooming plant that offers significance and symbolism reflective of the Christmas spirit. These beautiful plants are often seen in front of homes and businesses, spreading Christmas cheer.

v2Our Denver flower shop has a poinsettia collection. You can get red, white, pink and Jingle Bell colors of poinsettias through our Denver showroom or website. You can get many different sizes with a range of blooms. We also offer various types of holiday baskets that combine different colors of poinsettia plants or that incorporate other green and blooming flowers along with holiday accents.

These poinsettia plants are available for local Denver and national deliveries.

Some are also on sale so now is the time to order them for your decor or as gifts for friends, family, colleagues, clients, and other special people in your life. You can also place orders by phone or website along with doing so in our store for anything else from our holiday collection.

While poinsettia plants are very hardy and low maintenance, you still should follow some easy tips on caring for them.  During the holidays, poinsettias tend to be in full bloom. Keep them in a semi-cool, humid location with indirect light and plenty of moisture. However, don’t let them sit in water because this leads to rot. v1

After the holidays, keep the poinsettia plant in a sunny area and water it well. Cut back all the branches to about six inches from the pot’s rim. It may also be a good to re-pot the poinsettia with the same type of soil. After new growth has reached 6 to 10 inches, pinch out the tips to encourage branching.

After summer, move the poinsettia plant back in the house so that can rebloom. It will need periods of complete darkness and sun during the day. Make sure it is a semi-cool, humid location in indirect light with plenty of moisture once the blooming starts.
