After WWII, 25-year-old Ben Veldkamp Jr. left Holland in search of opportunity in America. With a rich horticultural family history in Holland and Belgium, he went to work in the flower industry and shortly thereafter opened a flower shop in Lakewood, Colorado. Over the years, Veldkamp’s grew into the interior and exterior landscaping business, garden center business, wholesale business and greenhouse production business. Veldkamp’s floral presence has continued with the next generation, Ben Veldkamp III and now the third generation John Paul Veldkamp. They are available a traditional centerpiece, custom designs and we also offer gorgeous Fall Cornucopia arrangements. Many of the Fall and Autumn themed flowers we sell were purchased directly from flower farms. Buying direct offers many great advantages. By purchasing directly from the farms we reduce the cost to acquire the flowers. We are able to pass along much of that cost savings to our customers. Buying direct also reduces the time between when the flowers are cut at the farm and when they arrive here at our flower shops for use in designing bouquets and arrangements. Fresher flowers translate directly into longer vase life for the folks who receive one of our designs.
